Sungtae “Jacky” Park is the Middle East, Technology, & Nuclear Security Analyst (Intern) at the American Security Project where he writes analyses and policy recommendations on the Middle East, energy, nuclear security, and emerging technology-related issues. In addition to dealing with policy issues, he is an enthusiast of international relations theory and history. Mr. Park brings extensive experience from multiple think-tanks in Washington DC where he assisted with day-to-day operations and conducted in-depth research and analyses on regions and topics ranging from U.S. foreign policy, military technology, political economy, arms control, defense analysis, energy development, Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and many more.

Mr. Park earned his B.A. from Brandeis University where he wrote a senior thesis on Russia’s resurgence strategy in Ukraine and Germany. Currently, he is completing a master’s thesis on national identities and Korean strategies towards great powers throughout history at the George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs.
