Expertise: Grand Strategy, Post-Conflict Stabilization, International Currency Reform, and Elections

Dan Grant is a consultant and instructor for the State Department’s Foreign Service Institute and the Defense Department’s Civilian Expeditionary Workforce and Ministry Of Defense Advisors programs. Dan has lectured for both the Naval Postgraduate School and the NATO Defense College.

In 2009 Dan worked at the American Embassy in Kabul as part of a team created by the late Ambassador Richard Holbrooke with the task of supporting the Afghan presidential elections, and received a commendation from the State Department for his efforts.

Dan previously worked in Afghanistan as the Operations Officer for the Afghan Central Bank’s currency and banking reform program. He also worked on Afghanistan’s Emergency and Constitutional Loya Jirgas.

In 2008, Dan ran as a Democrat for the United States Congress in Texas’ 10th district. In 2004 he worked as a foreign policy analyst for the John Kerry presidential campaign.

Dan has also worked in Iraq, Kosovo, and Bosnia. He is a graduate of the London School of Economics Graduate School and Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
