Investing for the Poor, a June conference at the Vatican, brought together the Pope, leaders from the non-profit and public sectors and development,  social entrepreneurs,and  impact investors to discuss innovative ways to fight poverty.

A July 11th Forbes interview with USAID Administrator Dr. Rajiv Shah touched on USAID can use private capital and partnerships and impact investing  to end extreme poverty and promote resilient, democratic societies. 

When asked about impact investing’s role over the next ten years, Shah expressed hope that it would, “will solidify its place as an asset class as common as stocks and bonds.”
