The economic costs and national security significance of climate change are growing, but so are the economic opportunities of climate action. From enhanced energy security to maintaining military readiness and resilience, there is no shortage of activities that can benefit communities. ASP and Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2) are joining forces to co-host an event in Norfolk, VA to discuss both the rising costs of climate change on the region’s military installations, including the rise in extreme weather and severe weather events and sea-level rise, and the myriad of economic opportunities presented by ambitious climate action. The public panel discussion will provide insights into existing plans and potential job opportunities in the growing clean energy economy for veterans returning to civilian life and much more. Moderated by E2’s Executive Director Bob Keefe, author of Climatenomics: Washington, Wall Street and the Economic Battle to Save Our Planet and ASP CEO Patrick Costello, the panel also includes:

Rear Admiral Tim Gallaudet, USN (Ret.), ASP Consensus for American Security member and CEO of Ocean STL Consulting, LLC
Councilwoman Andria McClellan, City of Norfolk, Superward 6
Mr. Bruce Sturk, Director, Federal Facilities Support, City of Hampton, Virginia
‐Lt Col Michael Askegren, Commander, USAF, 633d Civil Engineer Sq, Joint Base Langley‐Eustis
