Pamela Isom is CEO and Founder of IsAdvice & Consulting LLC. She oversees and leads organizations through AI compliance, policy, ethics, and privacy & data protection. Pamela is former US. Department of Energy (DOE) Senior Executive and Director of Artificial Intelligence and Technology (2018 – 2022). She also served as Deputy Chief Information Officer, and Chief Data Officer where she led and governed AI, Data, Geospatial, digital innovations, and frequently presented on the national security implications of AI. Pamela is passionate about youth education and workforce development efforts on safeguarding AI innovations, adversarial AI, cybersecurity and deepfake awareness and emerging risks, content authenticity, AI to protect critical energy infrastructure, ethics and data bias.

During 2015-2018, Pamela was Senior Executive Director of Application Engineering & Development at the US Patent & Trademark Office where she led modernization and security of the nation’s intellectual property systems. Prior to Federal Government service, from 1990-2014, Pamela worked in the private sector leading large, complex programs at Dell, IBM and HPE (formerly EDS), stewarding innovative digital transformation and corporate governance in banking, finance, telecommunications, manufacturing and e-commerce industries.

Pamela’s innovative leadership is extraordinary and has resulted in numerous accomplishments. In June 2023, she was invited by the White House National Space Council to attend the Blacks in Space commemoration ceremony, and earlier in 2023 and 2021 she was recognized as one of the most influential Federal government executives and recipient of the Fed100 award.  Oversight as Chief Innovation Officer and her leadership as Cybersecurity Executive for a private firm resulted in substantial community impacts, M&A stewardship, enhanced digital marketing and web presence, corporate compliance and achievement of IT and cybersecurity certifications.

Pamela’s distinction attributed to her recent tap as a Strategic Advisor to Government Executives (SAGE) for Partnership for Public Service and Advisory Board member for Bowie State University (BSU) Department of Computer Science. She is a ForHumanity™ Certified Auditor in AI, algorithmic and autonomous systems with specialization in Disability, Inclusion and Accessibility. She writes poetry, she is a technology book author, STEM/STEAM advocate, and she walks, paints and plays chess to maintain balance.
