Brigadier General Stephen N. Xenakis, MD, USA (Ret.) served 28 years in the United States Army and is a psychiatrist with an active clinical and consulting practice. He has been a senior adviser to the Department of Defense on the care and support to service members and their families. He has been the chief executive of an innovative medical technology company, the chief executive officer of a multihospital system and a large community hospital, the chief of medical staff for a teaching hospital and regional medical center, and a leader in developing telemedicine and leveraging advanced technology for the enhancement of healthcare delivery. Dr. Xenakis is an Adjunct Professor at the Uniformed Services of Health Sciences and the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
