Andrew Vaccaro is a first year master’s candidate at American University’s School of International Service studying Global Governance, Politics, and Security with a concentration in Global Security.  He recently completed his undergraduate degree from SUNY Binghamton, with degrees in both Political Science (International Affairs) and English. His interests include United States National Security and Foreign Policy, and have expanded to include counterterrorism policy and the emerging field of environmental security.

Prior to working at the American Security Project, he interned at U.S Senator Chuck Schumer’s regional office in Binghamton, NY, conducting research on local issues and regional data trends, and interacting with constituents. Afterwards he became a fellow at the Partnership for Public Service, working on their Ready to Govern program to ensure that the next administration and senior level political appointees govern effectively, among other tasks.

Andrew is originally from Long Island, New York and enjoys reading, singing, and strongly believes he can make the world a better place.
