Kedenard Raymond is a Foreign Service Officer in the U.S. Department of State’s Diplomatic Corps. Her area of expertise is Public Affairs, while her research and analysis has centered on countering violent extremism. Her current position is as Press Officer in the State Department’s Office of International Media Engagement.

Her prior assignments include: Political Officer managing the counterterrorism and domestic politics portfolio for Turkey; Deputy Public Affairs Officer in Peshawar, Pakistan; Assistant Press Attaché in Islamabad, Pakistan; and Consular officer in Montreal, Canada.

Kedenard graduated from American University with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Development, joined the Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Fellowship, and completed a Master’s degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University.

Outside of work she is a volunteer for Global Kids, a non-profit educational organization for youth development in Washington D.C. She is also a member of several affinity groups advocating on behalf of women, African Americans, and members of the Caribbean Diaspora. She enjoys traveling, photography, and reading historical fiction.
