ASP Business Council for American Security member and Chair of the Fusion Advisory Committee General Fusion was awarded $12.75 million from Sustainable Development Technology Canada to continue development on fusion energy technology and ultimately to design a full-scale demonstrative fusion energy system.

In an article for FinanzNachrichten.de, General Fusion CEO Nathan Gilliland was quoted as saying, “The Government of Canada has been a key partner in the evolution of our company and fusion technology”.

This announcement came just days after Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau called General Fusion “one of the most exciting things in clean energy”.

“SDTC is incredibly proud to support General Fusion,” Leah Lawrence, the President and CEO of SDTC was quoted as saying. “This is the kind of technology that has the potential to generate jobs, growth and export opportunities, and to bring lasting economic, environmental and health benefits to Canadians and the world.”
