While hurricanes and droughts are seasonal, Florida has to contend with wildfires year-round. Wildfires are an important part of forest regeneration in the state, but they are also a destructive and sometimes deadly force. In response, Florida has developed a robust fire prevention system that involves fire forecasting and management in addition to firefighting.
