ASP Member, General Fusion, was featured in a Huffington Post article about the increasing support for nuclear energy in Canada. Investors, like Amazon.com’s Jeff Bezos, are supporting General Fusion and others in the hopes of building the world’s first commercial fusion reactor. If successful, fusion has the potential to “fundamentally change the world by creating a vast new source of energy.” General Fusion has raised over $100 million so far but will need further funding in order to continue development.

The American Security Project has produced extensive reports on the feasibility of fusion. With continued R&D, Fusion provides an opportunity to replace fossil fuels with a clean, safe and reliable alternative. For more information about ASP’s work on fusion, click here.
