On Monday, August 16, Annie Aleman was featured on ABC 6/KAAL TV to discuss the instability in Afghanistan as a result of U.S. withdrawal.
In the segment, Aleman highlighted that Biden’s overall decision was the right call but the critique comes from the execution. Aleman emphasized that Biden put the decision on binary terms but there was a third option.
“You have modest troops on the ground, you continue to provide the Afghan military for Air Support, make sure that they are trained on their own intelligence, they know what they are doing. While at the same time you’re working to expedite the evacuations..”
