Expertise: Climate Security, Migration, and Environmental Conflict Resolution

Thatcher Hart is a M.A. in International Affairs Policy and Analysis candidate at American University’s School of International Service. His research interests include U.S. foreign policy, climate migration, and environmental conflict.

Thatcher previously interned with the Office of Haitian Affairs at the U.S. Department of State. In this role, he attended interagency meetings, conducted research on a range of issues, and otherwise aided diplomatic staff. This experience further developed his passion for challenges that exist at the intersection of security and climate change.

Thatcher earned a bachelor’s degree in political science with minors in international studies and community leadership from the Hicks Honors College at the University of North Florida. He is from Jupiter, FL.
