Matthew grew up in Deniliquin, a small in rural New South Wales, Australia. After moving to Melbourne to continue his studies, Matthew received a scholarship to attend Delta State University in the United States, where he is currently working on a B. A. in Political Science with minors in English and French.

Matthew has worked as a Parliamentary Assistant with the Victorian Government in Australia. He is also a former captain of the Delta State University men’s soccer team.

Matthew has frequently volunteered at the Madison Center for the Study of Democracy, Human Rights, and the Constitution. He currently holds the position of Assistant New Editor at the Delta Statement, where he reports on current events and writes a weekly column.
