Lulio Vargas-Cohen has served as a researcher and strategic adviser to leaders across governments, Fortune 500 companies, financial service firms and non-profits.

He’s worked as a consultant with CEB, a leading best practice research firm, where he supported public sector executives across the U.S. and Canadian governments. Previously, he was an associate with the Chertoff Group, a global security strategy firm, where he managed complex security, strategy, and mergers and acquisitions engagements for clients in the government, security, tech and real estate spaces.

Vargas-Cohen holds a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, where he was a Public Policy & International Affairs Fellow. While studying at Harvard, Vargas-Cohen advised a $2B+ ‘global macro’ hedge fund on political and social developments in South Africa, and created a risk assessment for an insurance company expanding to new market sectors.

Passionate about education and employment issues, he has served as a Compass volunteer, advising organizations such as Urban Alliance, Generation Enterprise, and MLT on empowering youth with the skills and experience necessary for academic success career readiness.

Prior to his work in industry, Vargas-Cohen was a Fulbright scholar in Spain, where he studied European and transatlantic affairs at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and Spain’s Army War School. He graduated magna cum laude from Florida State University. Originally from Puerto Rico, he is fluent in Spanish.
