Jeramy Shays served as Director of Transportation and Policy Manager at the American Council On Renewable Energy (ACORE) for over seven years, where she lead research, analysis, strategic communication, coalition building, stakeholder engagement and advocacy efforts on behalf of renewable fuels and electric vehicles. Jeramy advised ACORE member companies on legislative and regulatory developments at the federal and state level, and leveraged effective partnerships to advance policy supporting electric vehicles and biofuels.
Jeramy developed and implemented ACORE’s communication and advocacy strategies, targeting legislators, regulators, investors and end users, through formal comments on the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS), reports, blogs, OpEds, webinars and convenings. In recent years, she focused on the emerging hybridization of the power and transportation sectors at the intersection electric vehicles; the need for innovative financing mechanisms, including public-private partnerships, to support electric vehicle infrastructure; and the critical role of policy.
Earlier in her career Jeramy served as Director of Seminars and Research Associate at the Environmental Law Institute (ELI). She’s worked with environmental NGOs including, The Wilderness Society, National Wildlife Federation, Environmental Defense Fund, the federal government, and a leading corporate entity. Jeramy received a joint Law and Masters of Environmental Management (MEM) degree from Vermont Law School and Yale School of Environmental Studies, and a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Principia College. She is a member of the New York Bar.
