Adam Siegel, Insight Through Analysis, works with clean energy start-up firms seeking to leap the innovator’s valley of death.  His analytical work focuses on the intersection of energy, climate, national security, and business issues.

From 2000 through 2010, Siegel was the Senior Analyst Naval / Energy in the Northrop Grumman Analysis Center.

Prior to that, Siegel was a project director and research analyst at the Center for Naval Analyses for 15 years.  He had a leading role in the analysis of military (primarily naval) contingency operations, documenting naval contingency operations since the Second World War while also conducting lessons learned on numerous operations, such as Operation Earnest Will (the escort missions in the Persian Gulf during the Iran-Iraq War, 1987-1988).  He deployed as a civilian analyst with Amphibious Group Three (PHIBGRU THREE) for Operations Desert Shield / Storm (Persian Gulf, 1990-91), Special Marine Air-Ground Task Force (SPMATF) CARIB for Uphold Democracy (Haiti, 1994), and with NATO forces for Operations Joint Endeavor / Guard (Bosnia i Herzegovina, 1996-97).

Siegel has done PhD work in Military History at the University of Illinois, is a highly distinguished graduate of the Naval War College, has a MA in Russian Area Studies from Georgetown University, and a BA in History from the University of Wisconsin.
