Climate Security Outreach and Event Planner

Expertise: Climate Security, Energy management, Sustainability.

Adam Despang is the Climate Security Outreach and Event Planner for Florida at the American Security Project.

Adam, a former Army Field Artillery Officer, earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Florida, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Psychology from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY. While at UF he interned at the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Energy Resources and Congresswoman Kathy Castor’s D.C. office. This past Summer he worked with the American Red Cross as a Environmental Defense Fund Corps Fellow.

For the past three years he has been a volunteer with Team Rubicon, a disaster response non-profit, where he assisted communities affected by natural disasters. These deployments took him to numerous locations in the Southeast, to include Beaumont TX after Hurricane Harvey; Panama City Beach, after Hurricane Michael; and Abaco, Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian.

Adam was raised in Lake City, FL and now resides in Gainesville, FL.
