Senator Rudman represented the state of New Hampshire for two terms in the United States Senate. In December 1986, Senator Rudman was appointed vice-chairman of the Senate Select Committee investigating arms transfers to Iran, where he was instrumental in organizing and directing the investigation of the Iran-Contra affair. Senator Rudman co-chaired, along with Senator Gary Hart, the U.S. Commission on National Security in the 21st Century which issued its report, “Roadmap for National Security,” calling for a Department of Homeland Security in March of 2001. Since that time, Senator Rudman has co-chaired two Council on Foreign Relations task forces investigating our nation’s preparedness and has testified on numerous occasions before the Congress about this subject. He currently serves as Co-Chairman of Stonebridge-International LLC.
