Dr. Bernard Finel Featured in Today’s Baltimore Sun
In light of President Barack Obama’s speech at the University of Cairo aimed at healing relations between America and the Muslim world, ASP Senior Fellow Dr. Bernard I. Finel has penned an op-ed for the Baltimore Sun presenting a frank and thorough analysis of the speech’s probable effects. He writes in today’s edition:
“On Thursday, President Barack Obama will be making a major speech in Cairo that is designed to help improve our image in the Arab world. It won’t work. Ultimately, if we want to improve our relations with the Arab world, we would need to change the substance of American policy in the region. Rhetoric cannot overcome facts on the ground.”
