Among the most important reasons for the creation of the American Security Project was the need to develop a new national security vision and strategy for the twenty-first century that is responsive to the challenges and opportunities we face, sustainable economically and politically, and grounded in our values and traditions as a nation.  ASP is organizing a multi-phased initiative to develop a new national security strategy which will be released in early 2008.
